Sharon Guynup is Writing for and about the Science Community

Sharon Guynup is a freelance writer and editor for national science magazines, newspapers, and the Web. She has written for National Geographic News, New Scientist, The New York Times Syndicate, Sierra, Wildlife Conservation, Audubon, and Popular Science, among other publications. Ms. Guynup is currently producing State of the Wild, a yearly volume analyzing the state of the world's wild animals and wild lands, co-published by the Wildlife Conservation Society and Island Press. In 2002, she edited a special issue of Scientific American entitled "The Hidden Mind." Ms. Guynup holds a Masters degree in journalism from New York University's Science and Environmental Reporting Program, and has also worked as a photojournalist.
